What is the sugar in your Classic flavoring syrups?
MONIN® Classic Flavoring Syrups are sweetened exclusively with pure cane sugar. We never use high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in our syrups or any of our products.

What is the sweetener in your O’free sugar free syrups?
Splenda ® (sucralose) and Eridex ™ (erythritol, a natural low calorie sweetener that occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables). Using all-natural erythritol in addition to sucralose gives our O’free line clean, true flavor without the aftertaste typical of other sugar free products.

Do MONIN® Products contain gluten or alcohol?
MONIN® Products are gluten free and alcohol free.

Do MONIN® Products contain any dairy ingredients?
All MONIN® Flavoring Syrups do not contain dairy ingredients. MONIN® Sauces contain dairy ingredients.

Do any MONIN® Products contain caffeine?
MONIN® Espresso flavoring and MONIN® True Brewed Espresso Concentrate contain extracts of coffee beans so they contain some caffeine, 2.1 mg/1 fl.oz and 25 mg/1 fl. oz, respectively. The amount is generally lower than in a regular cup of coffee or espresso. The amount of caffeine in MONIN® Tea concentrates is minimal.

Do any MONIN® Products contain nuts (tree nuts)?
Yes, some MONIN® flavors contain traces of tree nuts: MONIN® Roasted Chestnut, Hazelnut, O'free Hazelnut and Organic Hazelnut. All other MONIN® Products are free from any traces of tree nuts.

Do any MONIN® Products contain peanuts?
Yes, some MONIN® flavors contain traces of peanuts: MONIN® Peanut Butter, MONIN® Macadamia Nut and MONIN® Toffee Nut. All other MONIN® Products are free from any traces of peanuts.

Do any MONIN® Products contain HFCS (high fructose corn syrup)?
No MONIN® product contains HFCS.

Do any MONIN® Products contain GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms)?
No MONIN® product contains GMOs. MONIN® products are GMO free.

What is the shelf life of unopened Monin® Products?
Monin Syrups in 750 ml glass bottles: 36 months except Lime, Lemon and Orange: 24 months

Monin Just Pure Flavor™ unsweetened concentrates in 750 ml glass bottles: 12 months

What is the shelf life of opened MONIN® Flavoring Syrups/Sauces?
Shelf life after opening depends on storing conditions and if a pump is used. Store MONIN® Flavoring Syrups/Sauces at a temperature between 65-80°F / 18-27°C. Avoid high humidity, heat and sunlight as much as possible. If using pumps, cover pumps with foil overnight in order to prevent any possible mold entering through the pump opening.

Do MONIN® Products need to be refrigerated at all or after opening?
MONIN® Products do not require refrigeration. Refrigeration is recommended for MONIN® Desert Pear in order to preserve the bright color.

Where is the expiration date located on the MONIN® Product bottle?
The expiration date is noted on the neck of the MONIN® bottle (e.g. "EXP 07/12") for all MONIN® Flavoring Syrups except 50 ml. 50 ml sample bottles display the expiration date on the label.

How much product does a MONIN® pump dispense?
MONIN® offers specially designed and calibrated pumps for our 750 ml flavorings, for our 1 Liter flavorings and for our 64 oz. sauces. Our flavoring pumps dispense ¼ fl. oz. while our sauce pumps dispense ½ fl. oz. View pumps on our Accessories page.

Troubleshooting:

Why is there a ring/sediment on the inside of a MONIN® fruit flavoring bottle?
This may be caused by any naturally occurring fruit oils, pulp or pectin contained in the MONIN® fruit flavoring. This should dissolve once shaken and is not a cause of concern. For additional questions, please call Customer Service at 800-966-5225 or (1)727-461-3033.

Environmental:

Are MONIN® product bottles and packaging materials recyclable?
Yes, all MONIN® Product bottles and packaging materials are recyclable where facilities exist. We are in the process of phasing out polystyrene (the cushioning material used as partition in some of our shipping boxes which is difficult to recycle) with a more environmentally friendly packaging option.

How "Green" is MONIN®?
Beside offering our products in recyclable bottles and packaging, we have a comprehensive recycling program in place at MONIN® Gourmet Flavorings, at the production plant, warehouse and offices. We recycle a wide variety of items including production discards, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and more. Additionally, we are excited about the “MONIN® 2 Bees” syrup recycling program. MONIN® syrup that can no longer be sold is sent to a Florida beekeeper where it is used as bee feed. With the rise of “Colony Collapse Disorder” dramatically reducing the bee population in recent years, helping to “save the bees” gains particular relevance. Bee pollination directly influences every third bite of food that humans consume.
