Monin Blood Orange Syrup

The sweet and tart, tasty and juicy orange loved all around the world originates from an ancient and sour-tasting wild Chinese predecessor. The blood orange is a red, sweet and tart cousin of the regular orange, and it is native of Mediterranean areas including Italy and Spain. Blood oranges exist in nature in several varieties, but are still not readily available in much of the United States.

With Monin Blood Orange it is easy to add a tantalizing mix of sweet and tart and big, bold blood orange flavor to many beverages! Create exotic, premium bar drinks like Blood Orange Margarita and Blood Orange Mojito.

The blood orange is a variety of orange (Citrus sinensis) with crimson, blood-colored flesh. The fruit is smaller than an average orange; its skin is usually pitted, but can be smooth. The distinctive dark flesh color is due to the presence of anthocyanins, a family of pigments common to many flowers and fruit, but uncommon in citrus fruits. The flesh develops its characteristic maroon color when the fruit develops with low temperatures during the night. -Wikipedia
